I have been having this problem while trying to access play
store or facebook mobile application on my abdroid phone when i am
connected to a wifi network with self defined proxy.
The server usually failed while connecting.
This happened with all the apps installed on phone except interbet browser like opera mobile,dolphin browser or native browser of phone.
So here's a solution i have found for the problem.
You can install an app named "PROXY DROID" from play store.
Phone must be ROOTED to have full advantage of the app.
With this app,you can define the desired proxy to be set for all the applications of phone.
You can search for the app on play store.
